Fall Yardwaste Dumpster

In our continued effort to become a Firewise Community the MBRCC board of directors voted to provide members with a Fall Yardwaste Dumpster. Yardwaste refers to plant-based materials generated from the maintenance of residential yards and gardens, including grass clippings, leaves, branches, and other vegetative debris. Buildup of these materials makes for really great fuel in the event of a wildfire. It is important to remember that wildfires aren't only started by lightning, arsonists or spread from other places. They can start by vehicles parked over dry grass, chainsaws or even a large pile of damp mulch. We like to think we are in control of those variables, but a recent local structure fire was started through no fault of the residents. If this fire had gone undetected for only a few more minutes an ember could have started a wildfire that may have ripped through Glacier and beyond with the amount of fuel that is accumulated in our dense trees. So while it is important to be careful about not starting fires we must also think about our responsibility to reduce fuel load. 

DETAILS:

The Yardwaste Dumpster is parked at our groundskeeping lot at the East end of Glacier Rim Dr. 

Only deposit Yardwaste as defined above or we will pay a substantially higher rate and it will all have to go to the dump. 

DATES:

The dumpster is here now and will be replaced every time it is full and remain through the end of October. 

LOCATIONS:

To get to the Yardwaste Dumpster from the gate take a RIGHT on Shuksan Rim Dr and follow it all the way to the bottom where it comes to a T on Glacier Rim Dr, take a RIGHT onto Glacier Rim Dr and follow it to the end where you will see the dumpster.Attention, we have had unauthorized dumping in our second lot which is designated by a gate, by some members this summer. Please note that the only time members can haul materials on or off of our lots is when it is authorized by our Community Manager Shaun and the Board of Directors via a communication such as this.
